Terms of Use

By signing in or using Faraan Alumni Network ("the platform"), you agree to these terms. The platform is operated by Faraan Alumni Educational and Charitable Trust ("the Trust") — an independent body run by former students of Faraan College, Faraan High School, and Lilly Rose Primary & Higher Primary School — for the purpose of connecting alumni and supporting community initiatives. The Trust is not affiliated with, controlled by, or operated on behalf of the management of these institutions.

1. Who can use it

• Anyone is welcome to sign in and browse. Posting on the wall, shoutouts, or contributing to initiatives requires being a verified alumnus.
• Verification is done by the admin team based on documents you submit or a reference from another verified alumnus.
• You must be 13 years or older. If you're under 18, please use the platform with the awareness of a parent or guardian.

2. Your content

• You own what you post. By posting, you grant the platform a non-exclusive licence to display it to other alumni.
• Don't post anything illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes others' rights.
• Admin may hide or remove any post that violates these terms or the spirit of the community.
• Repeated violations may lead to account suspension.

3. Contributions & donations

• Contributions are voluntary. The platform records every contribution publicly on the impact dashboard.
• While online payment integration is being built, contributions are coordinated directly with the Trust (Dr Shakeel, +91 96634 14714). Mention the initiative name when contributing.
• Receipts and tax documents are issued by the Trust.

4. Privacy & visibility

• Your name, batch, institution, city, and profile photo are visible to other verified alumni by default.
• Phone number and email are private unless you explicitly enable "Show on profile" in Edit Profile.

5. Account security

• You're responsible for keeping your phone, Google account, and OTPs secure.
• Notify the Trust immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
• The admin team may verify your identity before resetting an account.

6. Verification & admin role

• Super admins (currently the Trust's board members) can verify alumni, moderate posts, create initiatives, broadcast announcements, and manage groups.
• Admin actions are logged and reviewable.
• The admin team's decisions on verification and moderation are final, but you can appeal by contacting the Trust.

7. Disclaimer

The platform is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Information shared by other alumni is not vetted by the platform — please use your judgement before acting on contact details, meetup invitations, or financial requests posted in shoutouts.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
